Day of Trumpets (Yom Teruah)

Day of Trumpets begins with the sighting of the new moon of Month 7. The first possible sighting of the new moon of Month 7 is October 2nd between 6:22pm (sunset) and 7:24pm (moonset). At this time, the moon will be 2% illuminated. October 2nd is also the 30th day of Month 6. Since a lunar cycle cannot be more than 30 days, the evening of October 2nd the Day of Trumpets and Month 7 – whether the moon is sighted or not. Therefore, the dates of the fall feasts of Yehovah are as follows:
