“Invisible” Text Revealed on First Temple Era Pottery | Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus

New “do it yourself” method of photography reveals a message that time has long hidden.

Another artifact from the 7th century re-affirms the existence of the theocratic Kingdom of Israel. The sender of the message greets the recipient in the name of Yehovah, god of Israel; the message also includes two theophoric names, that is, names of people that include part of God’s name and therefore honor the God of Israel.

The message on the artifact also shows the development of an economy that included trading for oil and wine, used hand bills and receipts, and also used silver as a currency.
